Family Services
The aim of Family Services is to work with children, young people and their family to build skills and networks to promote their
safety, stability and development. A family services practitioner may:
- visit a client in their home or community
- establish family needs and goals for support
- work with mothers, fathers and other carers to offer parenting advice and support
- assist with building and maintaining family relationships and connection
- build on, or develop connection to culture
- provide information, support and linkages to other professional services, community groups and programs.
Family Services is a FREE service available to parents of children up to 17 years of age and pregnant women. Family Services welcomes people of any gender, sexuality, culture and ability.
Family Services can provide support with:
- Parenting challenges
- Relationship issues
- Stress or coping as a parent
- Understanding children’s behaviour
- Adolescent issues
- Family conflict and family violence
- Mental health issues
- Drug and alcohol issues
- Community or cultural linkages.
