The unit includes the L. Rigby Integrated Care Centre which provides chemotherapy and immunotherapy for patients with cancer and blood-related conditions. The centre delivers a wide range of chemotherapy treatments, immunotherapy, blood transfusions and blood-related products, and also undertakes other treatments as required.

Care centre staff have a varied skill set, administering chemotherapy, accessing Central Venous Access devices, administering blood products and immunotherapy. They also complete trials of voids in conjunction with our Continence team and arterial blood gas testing.

Staff are privileged to be part of each patient’s journey through their treatment and are committed to providing the best care.  

Through thorough assessment on presentation, patients may require additional services such as social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and dietetics. We're also able to provide these services.

“We have a great team working in the ITCU department. Staff have amazing skills and our clinicians support each other,” Nurse Unit Manager Anna Kenny said.

The team includes a Clinical Care Coordinator, Registered Nurses and Ward Clerks.
