The 18th of February was a special day for Bass Coast Health’s famous Printing Administrative Assistant Sheryl Mark - it was the start of her 45th year at Wonthaggi Hospital.
Sheryl was treated to a surprise morning tea by her colleagues to celebrate the occasion.
“The hospital staff have supported me and my family throughout my years here. The hospital has given me much joy in my roles helping in the community,” she said.
Since joining the hospital team in 1980, Sheryl has worked in the general office on the phone at Davey House, and then transferred to the hospital as an Outpatient Clerk and then an Inpatient Clerk.
When the new hospital opened in the early 1990s, she went into Main Reception, including Finance, and now she’s enjoying being part of the Health Information team.
“I like being with people and helping them all the time, bringing a smile and a ‘hello’ into people’s lives,” she said.
“In my current role, I like the enjoyment of helping the public and my colleagues throughout the hospital and other locations. It’s very rewarding work at BCH.”
Sheryl was born at Wonthaggi Hospital, not far from where she works now.
