Bass Coast Health’s (BCH) residential care centres have received outstanding results in the most recent Star Ratings survey.
The surveys are completed by residents and their families, and are published on the Australian Government’s My Aged Care website. Kirrak House at Wonthaggi received five stars overall and Griffiths Point Lodge at San Remo received four stars overall. Both centres rated highly for compliance, quality measures, residents’ experiences and staffing.
The surveys are conducted quarterly and the Star Ratings help older Australians and their families compare the quality and safety performance of different services.
BCH CEO Jan Child said Bass Coast Health’s care facilities were literally reaching for the stars.
“These outstanding results reflect the dedication and enthusiasm that our staff show for our residents. They treat them like they were their own family and as such the care they provide is second to none,” Ms Child said.
“Our staff take great pride in the work they deliver. For them, their work is far more than just a job.”
Our residents not only enjoy first-class service but also pleasant surrounds that enhance their experience of aged care.
“Renovations at Griffiths Point Lodge are nearly complete and give residents refurbished rooms and hallways, making the lodge feel even more like home,” Ms Child said.
“Kirrak House has been renovated in recent years, and the surrounds and ambience are so welcoming and comfortable.
“Our staff will continue to strive for top marks in future surveys to ensure we continue to provide the best service that we can to our residents and their families.”
