The Phillip Island Health Hub Auxiliary welcomes new members to raise funds for Bass Coast Health (BCH) to provide an even greater range of public healthcare services to the Island community.
Auxiliary President Lyn Wadeson said the Auxiliary is growing and looking for new members seeking an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
“As a group we work hard but also have fun. We all take time off, go away and have family commitments. There is no pressure on our members as we all do what we can when we can,” she said.
The Auxiliary recently held its successful major fundraiser for the year: the St Patrick’s Day Picnic Race Day at Woolamai.
The race day raised funds for the new Phillip Island Community Hospital now under construction at Cowes.
Auxiliary members also promoted the amazing services the hospital will offer residents and visitors by chatting with hundreds of race-goers at Woolamai and District Racing Club.
“The race day is our major fundraiser at present, but we have ideas for at least two more large events in the future. Stay tuned to find out more!” Lyn said.
“We are all looking forward to the new hospital on the Island and continuing to work for equipment for Bass Coast Health.
“The day was successful. Not only was it a great fundraiser, but people also had fun and families thanked us for offering so many fun activities for their children, including face painting, fashions on the field and football handball.
“We wish to thank the Woolamai and District Racing Club and our wonderful sponsors for their support: Harold Jackson of The Big Wave Complex, Silverleaves Electrical, Performance Property Phillip Island, Phillip Island RSL and David Taylor.“
BCH CEO Jan Child said the Auxiliary was an amazing group of people, passionate about helping the Island community.
“We are so grateful to the Auxiliary members for all that they do in raising funds for medical equipment and other healthcare needs for their local community,” she said.
“It’s through their efforts that we are able to provide the services that we do to residents and visitors to Phillip Island.”
