Good progress is continuing to be made on the construction of the new Phillip Island Community Hospital.
Concrete slabs have been poured, all underground services below the ground floor slab have been installed and walls are being erected.
The multi-million-dollar Phillip Island Community Hospital will feature a larger Urgent Care Centre, day surgery, dialysis and chemotherapy.
There will also be dental services and a radiology precinct offering CT scans, ultrasound and general x-ray.
The new hospital will also include a new main reception area and a Central Sterile Supply Department to support the day surgery and dental unit.
Bass Coast Health CEO Jan Child said the new hospital will be a valuable asset for the permanent population of Phillip Island, and for the many visitors who come to the Island.
“The new hospital will expand the existing Phillip Island Health Hub and help to future-proof healthcare services on the Island as the area’s population expands,” she said.
The community hospital is being delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority and will be operated by Bass Coast Health.
