Bass Coast Health is proud to now offer the community new private rooms for the provision of counselling for alcohol and other drugs.
Our knowledgeable Alcohol and Other Drugs Counsellors have two rooms in the Allied Health building at Wonthaggi Hospital, accessible via the Outpatients’ reception.
Construction of the new rooms was enabled by funding from the Victorian Department of Health.
Deb Guy, Team Leader of Alcohol and Other Drugs, said the new rooms will have many benefits.
“This dedicated space will not only lift our profile in the community but also offer a comforting, welcoming space for clients to access our diverse services,” she said.
“Our team assists clients with counselling, pharmacotherapy, withdrawal assistance, care recovery, a needle exchange program and referrals to detox services.”
People can access the services of the Alcohol and other Drugs Counselling Team by phoning the Australian Community Support Organisation on 1300 022 760 or filling in the e-referral form at acso.org.au/aod-mh-support
