Inspiring Healthy Choices and Environmental Action with #ChooseTap

The South Coast Water Partnership is committed to making tap water the drink of choice across Bass Coast and South Gippsland.

Together with its nine dedicated partner organisations, the Partnership aims to make a meaningful impact on community health and the environment, empowering everyone in South Gippsland and Bass Coast to #ChooseTap.

This summer, the Partnership’s #ChooseTap social media campaign will shine a spotlight on new and popular refilling locations, from coastal walks to local cafes and parks.

Featuring local faces and places, this digital effort emphasises the convenience, and eco-friendly and health benefits of using refillable water bottles, encouraging a cleaner, greener South Coast for residents and visitors.

Formed in 2016, the South Coast Water Partnership unites nine organisations committed to promoting the accessibility of tap water for a healthier community and environment. Partners include South Gippsland Water, Westernport Water, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, South Gippsland Hospital, Bass Coast Shire Council, South Gippsland Shire Council, GippSport and the Gippsland Region Public Health Unit.

“Choosing tap water supports health, reduces plastic waste, and contributes to a sustainable South Coast region we can all be proud of,” says Dona Tantirimudalige, Managing Director of Westernport Water.

"Keeping a reusable water bottle or glass of water within reach is an easy way to remind yourself to drink more water throughout the day. Tap water is a simple, effective way to stay hydrated, making it a great choice for both our health and the health of the environment." says Robert Murphy, Managing Director of South Gippsland Water.

The South Coast Water Partnership encourages all community members to support this movement by sharing the message to #ChooseTap, refilling reusable bottles, and tapping into naturally better hydration one refill at a time for a healthier and more sustainable South Coast.
