Every aged care resident is valued at Griffiths Point Lodge

News

Living at Bass Coast Health’s (BCH) residential aged care centre, Griffiths Point Lodge at San Remo, offers your loved one an experience just like home.

Griffiths Point Lodge (GPL) offers 29 beds and was recently internally renovated to the tune of $1 million, with new floors and nurse call bell system, painting of walls and some new bathrooms.

The low-care facility is uniquely located on the clifftops, and offers beautiful views of the sea and Phillip Island. Residents enjoy stimulating and engaging activities, pleasant gardens, a diverse menu of appealing foods and homely surrounds.

GPL is accredited against the Aged Care Quality Standards by the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission.

All staff are skilled and focused on the care of each resident. The team is led by the Nurse Unit Manager and includes nursing staff, personal care workers, diversional therapists, and cleaning and catering staff.

These staff form close bonds with residents’ families to ensure they are kept informed every step of the way, said BCH CEO Jan Child.

“All staff acknowledge the uniqueness of our residents and that residents’ self-esteem, privacy and freedom of choice are valued,” she said.

“Our philosophy is to enable all care recipients to live their life with dignity and comfort whilst encouraging them to pursue their own concept of a happy, rich and fulfilling life. We also encourage family support and interaction.”
