Bass Coast Health (BCH) offers Allied Health professionals many opportunities to work in a variety of settings with a wide range of client groups.

On Allied Health Professions Day on 14 October, BCH acknowledged the amazing Allied Health professionals who contribute to patient care in the hospital, in outpatients and in the community.

The sub-regional health service for Bass Coast and South Gippsland is often recruiting for exceptional Allied Health professionals seeking a dynamic and fast-paced workplace to advance their careers.

BCH Allied Health Director Trish Jelbart said Allied Health disciplines at BCH include Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Counselling, Dietetics, Social Work and Allied Health Assistants.

“They work in partnership with our clinical teams in our inpatient and community-based services to help clients recover from injury and illness so they can return to everyday activities, as well as the interests they enjoy,” she said.

“Their work is so diverse and of great value, ranging from helping a patient to rehabilitate after experiencing a stroke to working with a child to develop their fine motor skills.”

In addition to enjoying a variety of experiences, Allied Health staff at BCH also receive the support of our Learning and Development team, including staff dedicated to helping our Allied Health staff to pursue a range of professional development opportunities.

“Our Allied Health staff work across our Wonthaggi and Phillip Island sites, including the state-of-the-art expanded Wonthaggi Hospital, and they are also excited about the new Phillip Island Community Hospital at Cowes which is due to open next year,” Trish said.
