A raffle run by Bass Coast Health’s (BCH) volunteer Auxiliaries has raised $6,672 to help expand Women’s Health and Maternity services at Wonthaggi Hospital.
The All Auxiliary Raffle featured amazing prizes, including travel, pamper, homeware and art packages, and was well supported by the community.
Every BCH Auxiliary was involved in the raffle: BCH Ladies Auxiliary, Phillip Island Health Hub Auxiliary, Inverloch Fundraising Auxiliary, Inverloch Art Show Auxiliary and San Remo Op Shop Auxiliary.
BCH CEO Jan Child said, “We are so grateful to our Auxiliaries for organising this raffle and for giving so much of their time in sourcing prizes and selling raffle tickets, on top of all the other fundraising they already do for our health service.
“We’re also so thankful to those businesses who gave prizes for the raffle. Their support has enabled this raffle to be a success, while raising awareness of our Women’s Health and Maternity services and why they’re needed.
“Thank you also to the many people who bought tickets. Your support will help more local families to stay locally when they have a complex birth.”
Scott Rae won the first prize of a Bass Coast travel package valued at $1,600 but BCH is still trying to contact him. Anyone who can help us find Scott is asked to ring Vicki Riley, BCH Volunteer and Fundraising Manager, on 0439 367 129.
Second prize of a pamper package valued at $1,496 was won by Robyn Noone.
Third prize of a homeware package valued at $690 was won by David from Melbourne.
Fourth prize of an art package valued at $450 was won by Anne Cherny from Camberwell. The artwork was created by BCH staff member Garry Doncon.
