Bass Coast Health (BCH) is offering an even greater level of care to our cherished residents at Griffiths Point Lodge at San Remo by having a Registered Nurse (RN) on-site, 24/7.
BCH initially sought an exemption from the requirement to have a RN on-site 24/7 from 1 July 2023 to allow for the recruitment of more RN’s to fill a 24/7 roster.
This was difficult given the national aged care workforce shortage, and while BCH continues to recruit RN’s to its staff, the public healthcare service has excellent short-term RN’s who fill our 24/7 roster.
BCH CEO Jan Child said as a result, BCH was proud to voluntarily revoke its exemption to the requirement.
“Having a Registered Nurse on-site 24/7 has enhanced the already great level of care we offer residents, and it means more senior nurse support for our other nursing and personal care staff,” she said.
“Our new Registered Nurses have been attracted to Griffiths Point Lodge by the family atmosphere, the great public sector staffing ratios and conditions, the stunning sea-side location and the supportive team environment.”
