Bass Coast Health (BCH) recognised the service and commitment of its amazing Volunteers at the annual Volunteers Forum at Cape Paterson Surf Life Saving Club.

Volunteers help BCH in so many ways, offering a concierge service and transport driving, gardening, visiting our aged care residents, fundraising, Community Advisory Committee and more.

Long-serving Volunteers who received service awards at the event were:

• Five years: John Adamson, Angela Bell, Ann Booth, Louanne Calwell, Paulette Burt, Tricia Jebson, Carmel Lynch, Barry Melven, Bill Hallas, Peter Paul, David Scrase, Gill Scrase, Mary Stack, Ian Terry, Wendy Williams, Lyn Wadeson, Adrienne Ware, Wendy Martin and Robyn Holman.

• 10 years: Faye Azzopardi, Brad Proudlock, Cath Holman, Mary Sage, Joanne Linton and Peter Martin.

• 15 years: Willemina Jackson (San Remo Opportunity Shop member).

• 25 years: Felicia Di Stefano (has volunteered at L. Rigby Cancer Centre, and as a ward visitor in our Emergency Department, Armitage House and Kirrak House).

• 30 years: Marj Wagland (current Secretary of the San Remo Opportunity Shop).

BCH also acknowledged the service of retiring Volunteers: Lois Green, Paul Cross, Leeanne Hochkin, Anthony Hochkin, Jan Thompson and Patricia Smith.

Volunteer and Fundraising Manager Vicki Riley said the Board of Directors, Executive, staff and community value the service of the 224 Volunteers who give their time so freely to helping others.

“We’re grateful for our Volunteers’ services because they help us to provide healthcare for the community and raise valuable funds for BCH,” she said.

“These are selfless people who only want to help people access healthcare so as they can return to optimal health and enjoy life to the fullest.”
